Committed to sustainable development in all spheres of its activity, WIRECOM Technologies extends its involvement within its head office as well.
Created on the theme of originality and the environment, this building is a combination of ancestral techniques and new technologies, it is called: L’Ecosm.
Getting its inspiration from a greenhouse where the management of energy is the key factor, L’Ecosm uses renewable energies: the soil and the sun as a source of energy, light to produce electricity, air to regulate temperature and matter to conserve heat or the coolness desired. It regulates itself by recovering energy then redistributing it while taking into account environmental factors.
In the capacity of an expert in energy management, WIRECOM Technologies has naturally incorporated its system of intelligent regulation in its building. 243 integrated circuits are linked to the building equipment and communicate with each other through the electrical lines in a neural network. Regulation is optimised with the help of 182 sensors and 312 actuators located in each recess of the ecosphere, which analyse the requirements and control them.
In the offices: The system of regulation manages the functioning of the cassette type fan convectors, the lighting (LED), the automatic window shutters, the computers and the access panels to the offices according to the program. Lights forgotten to be switched off, or heating that functions in an empty room are a thing of the past. Comfort at the service of energy savings!
In the greenhouse : Sensors placed under the ecosphere help to increase the temperature in the different zones. The integrated circuit cards independently regulate the opening of the louvers and the roof windows, as well as the big doors in the front and of the greenhouse, until the programmed temperature is achieved.
Such a synergy between all the equipment of the building is rendered possible thanks to the technology of WIRECOM Technologies in finally offering a solution in MDE (controlling the demand of energy) and making it possible to attain much lower levels of consumption than those pre set as per the BBC stamp of quality (50 kWh/m².an).
Constructed after 8 months of work, visited for the first time by the President of the Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy, the Minister of Economy Christine Largarde and the secretary of State incharge of ecology Nathalie Kosciusko Morizet, on the 22nd of May 2008, then officially inaugurated on the 26th of june in the presence of the Secretary of State incharge of digital development Éric Besson, it has already been an absolute success.
Designed by architect Gilbert Autret from Orléans in collaboration with the offices of ECI and ECR for thermal studies, the Ecosm contains some 182 sensors (temperature, humidity, light, rain, wind, pressure, etc..) in the walls, the network Canadian wells, outside, etc.. allowing a recovery of actual data on the life of this unusual building.
